After learning about the wild animals living in the Hungarian forests we went to Vadaspark, the wild animal park in Budakeszi and saw them with our own eyes. Here are some pictures of our trip:
Children started learning about the different wild animals that live in the Hungarian forests. We are going to find out which are these animals, how they look like, what they eat, how they move and what sound they make. Children will learn short rhymes about some of them and color or draw pictures of them. At the end of the unit we will all go together to the Vadaspark (wild animal park) to see them with our own eye. Multiage students dyed eggs for Easter using different color egg paints and they drew on the eggs using a candle. It was a fun activity, because they could not see what they were drawing until we took the eggs out of the paint. While we were waiting for the eggs to get the right color, the boys sprinkled the girls with water and the girls gave the boys a chocolate egg. We had lots of fun. Please look at the pictures of our activities. We are having fun learning about Farsang in Multiage.
If you are interested in what Farsang is, please visit the Special Events page on my website and you will find more information about it. Multiage children were learning about seasons in January. We were learning their names in Hungarian and made different pictures about them Children listened to a Hungarian story about two friends and the snowman. Please look at pictures of the kid's artwork.
We are learning a Hungarian song for the Winter Concert. It is a fun song about winter. We will sing it together with the Kindergarteners.
These are the words of the song: Ember, ember, December Ember, ember, December, Hideg morcos medve. Sűrű havat szitálva, Kiült a hegyekbe. Ha ha ha havazik, He he he hetekig, Hú hú hú hull a hó, Hi hi hi jaj de jó. Ha ha ha havazik, He he he hetekig, Hú hú hú hull a hó, Hi hi hi jaj de jó. Children learned the words of the song in Hungarian. We acted out the song by walking around in the room like a snake. The children had to listen to the beat, because sometimes we sang slowly sometimes we sang faster, so they had to walk really slowly at times and they had to run at other times. We had lots of fun.
These are the words for the song, if you would like to sing it with your children. Tekeredik a kígyó, rétes akar lenni, Tekeredik a rétes, kígyó akar lenni. While children in their classrooms were getting familiar with the numbers in English, we learned how to count in Hungarian. We learned a song with the numbers from 1-10, we colored pictures and decorated big letters to be able to put together the words in Hungarian. If you would like to practice with your children, here are the numbers for you in Hungarian: 1- EGY 2- KETTŐ 3- HÁROM 4- NÉGY 5- ÖT 6- HAT 7- HÉT 8- NYOLC 9- KILENC 10- TÍZ |
